Before the flower bloomed, it took root. Before it took root, it was broken. And before it was broken… …it was accepted by the soil. Does love transform?Does love renew?Does love grow?Does love open us up? Yes. How? With truth?Power? … Continued

The Suffering of Arrogance

Did you know that, sometimes, the people who are the most hurt are actually arrogant? When someone is “hurting” it’s generally assumed that they are innocent. That they experienced something wrong. Something they definitely didn’t deserve. Usually when someone is … Continued

The Seeds of Change

Have you ever heard someone say something like this, “I can’t believe this person is bringing this up again. Why can’t people just leave things in the past? I apologized, we hugged, we made up, everything seemed fine—why can’t we … Continued

When I was a boy I loved Jonathon Taylor Thomas. I loved his hair, his voice as Simba, his personality in Home Improvement. I think I wanted to be an actor at a young age—something I’ve never noticed or been able to put words to til recently. And for whatever reason I couldn’t own it, or was too shy or embarrassed, thinking maybe I was being arrogant or selfish or a show-off. So posing, sharing openly, expressing myself, especially with music, has always been a struggle. Even if it looks like I walk with a swagger, or hold a certain confidence, on another level I’ve never been comfortable with it, and have always felt this nervousness as if someone’s about to yell at me, or sneer, or scold me for absorbing the attention in the room.

My presence and expression has always rubbed some people wrong. And to be honest, that’s always made me sad, and sometimes mad.

And so I would often tip-toe with myself, trying as best I could to blend and mold and chameleon myself to my imagined expectations in peoples minds.
Which is cute.
Which is well intended.
Which is also control, because it’s not my job to be in peoples minds.
The same way it’s not anyone’s job to be in mine and believe I’m being arrogant or self obsessed to proudly share a picture I look pretty damn good in, or sing loud and wild and free.

It’s weird and scary and humbling and freeing to learn to love yourself.

I love myself here.

Anna took this photo and said, “You should be a model.” Lol

Maybe.
Probably not.
But here’s me modeling for you.

And as far as loving myself, yes, I do.
Finally.
After many many years.
And when I found it, I found it also opened the door for me to love people back equally.
So that’s the best thing I can say.
I’m misread often.
But I think we all share the feeling that if anyone got to know the book inside the cover, they’d really like us.
I think this is true.
I think if you read some of my pages, I think you’d really like me.
And I know, for certain, already, I really really like you; your cover art, the title, the intro, the chapters and the ending.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for letting me pose and look sexy AF for you.

I love you,

Uri
